In April 2019 Rosie’s Gaming Emporium opened as the first facility with historic horse racing machines at Colonial Downs. Later that year Rosie’s opened another location in Vinton, outside of Roanoke, Virginia and a third location opened in Richmond. The fourth location opened in Hampton in November, 2019, and a fifth facility might open in Chesapeake by mid-2021.

All of the gaming emporiums are owned by The Colonial Downs Group and the state has limited them to a total of 10 locations with a maximum of 3,000 machines at all of the locations combined.

There are no live table games, slots, or gaming machines offered at any of the casinos in Virginia. Virginia casinos only offer these historic horse racing machines.

The minimum gambling is 18 and all casinos are open from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. (4 a.m. on Fri/Sat).
